TV Comfort Sound #2

Back in March, Media Mischief featured its first TV Comfort sound.  The idea behind it is that with all the stress, strain and scares coming at us on a daily basis, what better (and cheaper) way to find a temporary respite from it all than television?  It’s a lot like comfort food, which is also booming in popularity in these troubling times. We zone out for a few hours, enjoy something comfortably familiar, and attempt to reset our heads for the next struggle.  The only way to improve the experience is to watch with a plateful of meatloaf and mashed potatoes in front of us.

I was reminded of this entry recently by a story from Brian Williams on NBC Nightly News.  According to The Nielsen Company, TV viewing in this country has once again reached an all time high.

Looks like we need more comfort more than ever.

So, I thought I’d do my part by adding another TV comfort sound to the site.  Just hit the player button underneath the TV below, and you’ll hear a sound from your past that I’m betting will make you smile.  And maybe, in some small way, it will help ease the troubles of the day -- at least you until you can get home and cozy up to the remote.
