I Pray You Don’t Take This the
Wrong Way, But....

What is happening in the Gulf of Mexico is a tragedy.  There is nothing to laugh about considering the devastation it has caused to the people, the environment and the economy.  And I know all our thoughts and prayers are with the people confronting this disaster and trying to solve it.

Well, maybe not all of us.

Sarah Palin has come up with a different prayer for the Gulf spill.... She thinks God should fix it.

Last Sunday she tweeted the following:

“Gulf disaster needs divine intervention as man's efforts have been futile. Gulf lawmakers designate today Day of Prayer for solution/miracle."

Now I’m not knocking the importance of prayer, I just don’t think it works that way.  But this tweet got me to thinking... what else might be in Sarah’s prayers.

Dear God...

...please make people forget all those chants of “drill, baby, drill” I led at my public appearances last year.

... even though I vilify the “lame stream” media, I would be very thankful for an Emmy nomination as Best Reality TV Host for Sarah Palin’s Alaska.

... help me to keep on the rogue and narrow path.

... sway Revlon to pick up my idea for a new brand of lipstick, “Pitbull Red.”

... keep making beautiful wildlife creatures for the Alaskan tundra so I can go out and hunt them down with my assault rifle.

... please inspire Oprah to choose my next book for her “Book Club.”

... show Jerry Bruckheimer the wisdom of producing my idea for a procedural crime drama -- CSI: Wasilla.

... punish “Ricky Hollywood” for his wicked and sinful ways.

... help me hide my disappointment when they don’t serve me tea at the Tea Party rallies.

... let people realize that when I wink it means I’m being smart, not flirty.

... please persuade America to love me even more than Betty White.

Amen!

Sarah Palin Praying for an end to the Gulf Oil Spill
