Holier Than Now

Mike Huckabee thinks the media would be better off if more Christians were involved in it.  At least that’s what he reportedly said while addressing a crowd at the National Religious Broadcasters’ Media Leadership Dinner on February 28, 2010.

Now, I’m not exactly sure what the former Governor of Arkansas, who is also an ordained Southern Baptist minister and a commentator for Fox News, means by this.  “Wherever you see something that is rotting and decaying, wherever you see something is spoiling and going bad, that’s where salt’s got to be,” he said according to a story on christianpost.com.  “If Christians are the salt, where should we be? In a box? In a sack? In a warehouse somewhere? No. The salt has to be on that which is spoiling. So let’s pick out the realms of our culture that we think are rotting, and spoiling, and decaying.”

For Huckabee, this includes the media, the movie industry, music, fashion, advertising and finance.  One can only assume these are all presently being controlled by heathens (Rupert Murdoch excluded, of course).

It also raises the question as to how different television would be if Mike Huckabee got his way.  Would programming change that radically?

Might is look.... something like this?
